The following reel covers some of the more interesting commercials I've worked on as editor. I've been an editor on almost 100 commercials during my long career and these represent some pretty cool ideas. Especially the Carlsberg Light commercial (produced in 1989) which was a multi-media piece in a time without digital technology. Everything was done through multiple optical runs to get the desired image.
This animatic is part of a pitch for a proposed animated series entitled "THE TOUR".
This teaser is part of a live action pitch called "Groovey Waves". It's a proposed series that chronicles an adventure that stretches across the know universe (and possibly a little bit further)! It involves Sam (guardian of the universe), an unknown evil entity and a 3rd rate pub band from Glasgow. Will good triumph over evil? With this lot, probably not, but it should be a fun show to watch!
And now... A Public Service Announcement on Social Distancing made possible by the Canadian Dystopia Corporation.
(Actually, this is a sneak peak from the pilot of the new comedy series "Soiled Shorts: THE SERIES". If you don't tell anyone, neither will I. It will be our little secret - nudge, nudge, wink, wink!)
And now, the CEO of Excalibur Animation delivers the company's holiday message for 2019.
Lurking in the sewers of Toronto lies the prehistoric throwback known as the ChickenFish. Many people have theories on how this grotesque creature (but highly delicious animal when cooked properly) came into existence. Did Darwin have it wrong all this time or is some deity having fun with humankind? In this brand new Soiled Shorts™ film, an attempt will be made to give an explanation (just not a very good one!)
This is the official trailer for the award winning short film "The Legend of the ChickenFish"
And now, the CEO of Excalibur Animation delivers the company's holiday message for 2018.
This theatrical teaser is for Excalibur Animation's feature film pitch entitled "The Secret Railroad". This film is based on the original series produced in the late 1970's and will tell the story of how the Secret Railroad came into existence. The project is now in the outline/writing stage.
I put this promo together for Season 1 as it was part of 9 Story Media Group's deliverables to the broadcaster (Teletoon). I would like to Thank Tanya Green & Jazmin Playtis for the opportunity to do this.

As editor on the animated interstitials that were glimpses of Ron's life as a child for his live show, here is one of the best ones! Thanks to Raph Quirino for bringing me on board to do this for Seasons 2 - 5.

As the editor and post production supervisor on Toonbox Entertainment's "Bolts & Blip", I cut together this series trailer as a selling tool for potential broadcasters.
This is a commercial I worked on as editor back in 2008. The Agency came to us with an idea for a "100 years" commercial that they wanted to do. I spoke with Andy Knight (Creative director) after the call and pitched the idea of Red telling us the story of Sasktel's 100 years through a pop-up book (based on the Agency's direction to have a paper cut out look for the spot). Andy liked the idea, went away and came back 30 minutes later with a rough board and the rest, as they say, was history.
As one of two editor's on Red Rover Studios' series "Get Ed" (broadcaster - Toon Disney), I put together this series trailer for my reel.

I put this promo reel together as I had been the animation director on Season 5 of "Eek The Cat/Thunderlizards", but had nothing to show for it (outside of piles of exposure sheets).
In 2007, I was the editor at Red Rover Studios. At that time, Andy Knight was trying to pitch a show based on Stuart McLean's "Vinyl Cafe". In doing this, we recorded Stuart along with his musical guest Dala. After Andy came back, he asked to me to make a music video of one of their performances. The fact we only had four hand held cameras and dodgy audio, the result came out better than I expected. Sadly, Andy and Stuart are no longer with us. The world is a little bit darker without them.
